“I worked in the technical wholesale sector from 2006. There, I was involved in the warehouse, counter sales, facilities, and basically anything else they could use me for. Because I no longer saw my future there, it was a logical moment for me to look further.” Björn got in touch with MCAP via LinkedIn. Since January 5, 2026, he has been working as a warehouse employee in Raamsdonksveer.

From finished product to custom work

Although Björn had years of experience with technical products and warehouse work, he had a lot to learn all over again at MCAP. “At a technical wholesaler, you mainly deliver complete items. Here, the warehouse is part of the production process. A cable, for example, arrives on a reel, after which we have to prepare exactly the length needed for a specific order. That is much more custom work.” As a result, no day is the same. Björn checks what is needed for production and delivery, processes incoming goods, and ensures that production has the right materials at its disposal. In addition, he is busy reorganizing and optimizing the warehouse. His experience comes in handy here. “Whether I’m picking up cables, connectors, and contacts or screwdrivers and Allen wrenches: ultimately, it doesn’t make that much difference for warehouse work. The inventory just has to be right.”

A little better all the time

The latter immediately constitutes one of the challenges Björn is eager to sink his teeth into. The many cables, wires, and components make inventory management at a cable assembly company quite complex. Instead of going into extensive technical details, Björn summarizes his goal simply: to further optimize the processes.

He sees himself still learning plenty in that area in the coming years. “I hope that in five years I will know everything here like the back of my hand, so to speak. If everything goes well, I might also be able to offer more and more support with, for example, purchasing.”

Friendly and professional

He also enjoys the atmosphere at MCAP. During his job interview, he quickly noticed that he and Corina van Aperloo have a similar view on collaboration. “You really work as a team here. Ultimately, you want to achieve the same thing together. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and that just makes for a pleasant working environment.”

If Björn has to describe MCAP in a few words, he ultimately doesn't have to think long: “A friendly and professional company. When you see the sectors for which we get to make products, you know that quality is expected.”
